The Athens combined ticket was abolished in April 2025

For years, one ticket covered the Acropolis and six other archaeological sites in central Athens. It cost €30 and was valid for 5 days. On 1 April 2025 it was abolished. In 2026 there is no official combined ticket for Athens.

If you still see a site selling an Athens combined ticket, the page is either out of date or it is a reseller package that bundles separate tickets. Official tickets are sold per site on tickets.hh.gr and at the ticket offices.

Winter hours apply from 1 November to 31 March. In summer most of these sites follow the Acropolis hours, opening at 08:00. Free days and the rules for reduced and free entry are the same as at the Acropolis: EU citizens up to 25 and non-EU children up to 18 enter free with ID. The Acropolis Museum is not part of this system. It has its own €20 ticket and its own rules.

Is it cheaper or more expensive now?

Much more expensive for anyone who wants to see everything. Seven sites that once cost €30 together now cost €105 at full price. For most visitors, though, the real question is which two or three sites to see. The Acropolis alone costs the same €30 the combined ticket used to cost, and the Ancient Agora and the Temple of Olympian Zeus add €20 each.

If you are eligible for free entry, nothing changes in practice: EU citizens up to 25 still enter all of these sites free. On the official free days, such as 6 March, 18 April, 18 May, the last weekend of September and 28 October, every site is free for everyone, and very busy. Entry is also free on certain winter Sundays; check the current list on hh.gr.

Which sites are worth it for 1, 2 or 3 days

A simple plan that keeps the cost down and puts the most rewarding sites first.

1 day: Acropolis and museum

The Acropolis (€30) in the morning, the Acropolis Museum (€20) at midday or in the afternoon. Add the Areopagus hill for a free view. Total €50 at full price.

Good to know before you visit the other sites

  • Ancient Agora: since 1 July 2025 the entrance and exit are at the gate on Thissio square, because the main entrance on Adrianou is being rebuilt. The upper floor of the Stoa of Attalos and the Church of the Holy Apostles have been closed since 1 November 2025. Opening times differ between official sources, so plan for 08:00 and check the closing time for your date.
  • Temple of Olympian Zeus: entrance on Vasilissis Olgas. Summer 08:00–20:00, closing earlier in steps until 18:00 at the end of October, winter 08:00–15:00.
  • Hadrian's Arch: the area around it has been fenced off since 1 April 2026 for roadworks on Vasilissis Olgas. You can see it from a distance.
  • Kerameikos: new entrance on Ermou, new exit on Agion Asomaton and a new visitor building with a café.

Getting around is easy on foot or by metro: Akropoli (line 2) for the Acropolis and the museum, Monastiraki (lines 1 and 3) and Thissio (line 1) for the Agora side.

Reseller combo packages, explained

Since the official combined ticket ended, many booking platforms sell their own bundles. Typical combinations put the Acropolis ticket together with the Acropolis Museum, with an audio guide, with a guided tour or with one or more of the other sites. Some are still called combined ticket, which can be confusing.

These packages are not official and are not the old ticket. That does not make them bad. To judge one, add up the official prices from the table above and compare. The difference is what you pay for the bundling, any guide or audio guide and the cancellation terms. Check three things before booking: which entry tickets are really included, whether the Acropolis time slot is already booked for you, and what happens if you cancel. Official tickets cannot be refunded, while some resellers offer free cancellation up to a deadline.

Athens combined ticket: frequently asked questions

Is there still a combined ticket for the Acropolis in 2026?

No. The combined ticket for seven sites was abolished on 1 April 2025. Each site now has its own ticket, starting with €30 for the Acropolis.

How much does it cost to visit all seven sites?

€105 at full price in 2026, or €53 if you qualify for reduced entry at every site. EU citizens up to 25 and non-EU children up to 18 enter free.

Is the Acropolis Museum included in any combined ticket?

No. The museum has its own ticket, €20 in 2026, reduced €10. It cannot be combined with the Acropolis ticket officially.

Are combo tickets from booking sites worth it?

Sometimes, if you want the extras such as a guide, an audio guide or free cancellation. Compare the package price with the sum of the official tickets first, and check which entries are included.

Which sites should I skip if time is short?

With one day, see the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The Ancient Agora and the Temple of Olympian Zeus are the next best additions. The smaller sites suit a third day.
